How do abigail and brittany hensel walk

This height discrepancy has made finding clothing, pants, and shoes difficult in the past. It's for this reason, along with differences in fashion sense, the girls sometimes wear different leggings and socks, and even different shoes. While they're open to discussing the challenge, tiumphs, and practical realities of living together, neither speaks publicly about the topics of romance and intimacy.

Speculation abounds, and Brittany was once rumored to be engaged, but they succinctly dismissed the whole thing as a "dumb joke.

Because they are two separate people, Brittany and Abby tend to get two of everything. They have two passports though they only buy one seat on a plane , own two IDs, and even get two tickets when they go to see a movie.

That getting two of everything also extends to a driver's license. Though the sisters learned to drive together, with one controlling one side of the wheel and the other controlling the pedals and the other side of the wheel, there's more to driving than just the physical test. On their 16th birthday, each girl took their written test separately and passed , and they now have two unique driver's licenses. People may wonder why it is the twins were not separated at birth.

This comes down to a decision their parents made. When they were born, doctors said a surgery could be attempted to separate the girls, even though they had so many combined organs. The unfortunate part of this is both girls weren't likely to survive , and one would probably die during the procedure.

Upon hearing this, the twins' parents flatly refused and allowed the twins to grow up conjoined but both alive. Their parents have also always made efforts to treat them as different people. Their mother, for example, was always careful to scold only whoever got in trouble , even though both girls shared a body. It may have been a strange way to grow up, but the twins like being together, and their parents appreciate both of their miraculous daughters. Since they're two different people, they're obviously different in ways any pair of siblings might be, so it's not surprising that Abby is more introverted or that Brittany is afraid of heights.

It may be surprising, however, that the twins respond to caffeine differently - drinking several cups causes Brittany's heart rate to speed up, while her sister experiences no such acceleration.

They can also have different body temperatures. According to Abby , "I can be a totally different temperature than Brittany would be, and a lot of times our hands are different temperatures, so I get super-hot way faster. With all the fascination about Abby and Brittany, it can be easy to forget the Hensels have a bigger family than just the twins!

Besides their mom and dad, Abby and Brittany have a brother and sister, both of whom are younger. Their younger brother, Dakota, and their younger sister, Morgan, have done their best to stay away from the spotlight. You might wonder if these siblings also experienced birth defects, but believe it or not, neither one did. Abby and Brittany still maintain a close connection with their family.

Very few people appreciate being gawked at by strangers. Abby and Brittany are not exceptions, and in public they sometimes have to contend with uninvited attention, which includes unsolicited photos from people whose curiosity overrides their sense of decency. Nerves, muscles, hormones, and psychology all probably factor into who feels what. Conjoined twins simply may not need sex-romance partners as much as the rest of us do.

Throughout time and space, they have described their condition as something like being attached to a soul mate. But when a conjoined twin has sex with a third person, is the sex—by virtue of the conjoinment—incestuous?

Group sex? Well, it definitely is sex. You can tell because everyone wants to talk about it. Occasionally, they will wear separate styles of pant legs and even different shoes on each foot. Both excelled in school, though they preferred different subjects. Abby loves math while Brittany is a natural writer. While attending Bethel University, Brittany and Abby had another difficult decision to make. What classes would they take since they both wanted to major in different subjects?

Ultimately, they decided taking different collegiate routes would be too difficult, and they decided to compromise on a subject they both loved. Abby handles the high notes, while Brittany plays the lower register. Shortly after graduating college, Brittany and Abby decided they wanted to see the world. The twins and some friends packed their bags and went on a trip to Europe.

Predictably, air travel presents some challenges for the girls. On the bright side, they only had to purchase one plane ticket. Leaving the country was also a learning experience. The twins had to learn to deal with large crowds and occasional rude interactions with locals and other tourists.

Brittany and Abby refuse to let some uncomfortable exchanges spoil their fun. Despite opening their lives up to the public on many occasions, the twins live relatively private and normal lives. Brittany and Abby worried that pursuing a career would prove difficult for them.

Brittany and Abby currently work as fifth-grade teachers at a school district in Minnesota. On the first day of class, the Hensel twins have an open forum where kids can ask any questions they may have. This helps them clear the air so they can focus on schoolwork for the rest of the year.

According to him, they left him little choice but to hire them. Their math expertise as well as their enthusiasm helped land them the job out of candidates that applied for the position.

Good added. Despite having two different degrees and teaching credentials, their medical condition only enables them to work one job. This means they can only take home one paycheck — something that Brittany and Abby hope to remedy in the near future. With two sets of lungs, two hearts, two stomachs, one liver, one large intestine and one reproductive system, they have learned from a young age to co-ordinate their body, with Abby controlling the right hand side and Brittany the left.

There is a difference in height and at 5ft 2in 1. As their two legs are different lengths, Brittany has to stand on tip toe, on her leg, to ensure they maintain their balance.

They have had to learn to reach compromises on everything from what food they eat to their social life and even the clothes they wear. While Abby is seen as the "outspoken" sister and will always win the argument about what they are going to wear, Brittany says her twin is also much more of a "homebody," whereas she prefers going out. There are other differences too. Brittany is scared of heights, whereas Abby is not. Abby is interested in maths and science, while Brittany prefers the arts.

They also respond differently to coffee. After a few cups Brittany's heart rate increases, but Abby is not affected. Despite having a normal family and social life, studying and working like any other young women, they do face some additional problems.

For example, they have to put up with speculation about their private life - something they prefer not to discuss.
